Community is Wellness

By: Candice Kumai

Community is what holds us all together. As I teach my community cooking and wellness classes, and work to spread the message of clean eating and wellness from LA to NY, SF, SD (everywhere!), I always remember in my heart that it’s all about you. It’s not about me, it’s about our community. My intention is to be of great use to all of you, and my goals are ensuring I get YOU the best quality and most relevant information in wellness and clean eating. Period. No compromises or bullshit allowed.

We call this “Kiritsu” in Japanese. Constant discipline, training, gaining more knowledge.

And “Ganbatte” means “always do your best, work hard!” This is my life’s anthem. #TheKumaiMethod.

Know your craft, own your craft, and continue to do quality work. Be proud of what you are putting your efforts toward, and watch the magic happen!  Be of GREAT use to your community, whether it’s just being a team leader, a community ambassador, a teacher, a friend, a mentor, a mentee, a student, a momma. We all play many different roles, and it’s important to reflect upon this.

As you continue through your weekend, think about what your role in your community is. STAND OUT, SHINE, BE OF GREAT USE. Feel really f—ing good about what you are doing, too!

With peace love and community,
Ganbatte ne,
