Building Community is what all of these diets + lifestyles have in common

In turn being a part of a healthy community is good for your wellbeing!

It also important to remember that these various lifestyles can get you back to eating whole foods again

Keto, Paleo, Whole 30, Intermittent Fasting, and Kintsugi Wellness:

1- Keto:

Refers to your body being put into a state of ketosis: when your body is very low on carbs — it begins to burn fat for fuel

Fat begins to be your primary source of energy

Benefits – possible weight loss + some say when they are in ketosis, they can have higher energy + possible brain boosting

Keep Carbs Low

Eat more Fat

Overdoing protein is bad

Ketones: refer to chemicals produced in the liver

Your body makes ketones when your body does not have proper insulin to turn sugar//glucose into energy.

Thus your body will then use fat instead.

The body then turns your fat into ketones— a type of acid, and sends them into your bloodstream. Your body’s tissues and muscles use them to fuel the body

 

Foods to eat include: Low carb, high fat foods. Proteins such as meat, fish, legumes. “SOME” nuts, seeds and avocados.  Low carb veggies

Foods to avoid include: Cakes, candy, pasta, rice, cereal, all fruit (aside from small amounts of berries,) alcohol, and root veggies

Show Foods: Nuts, seeds, avocado, fish, legumes (macadamia nuts, lets chat onb chicken, fish and my fat bomb matcha cups”

2- Whole 30:

Foods to eat include: Unprocessed, organic Meat, seafood and eggs; lots of fruits and veggies, and natural fats.

Foods to avoid include: Sugar, dairy, legumes, grains and alcohol.

-Eliminate above foods for 30 days. After 30 days, can carefully add foods back and see how your body responds.

-No soy, dairy, sugar or alcohol

Show Foods: Eggs, fruits, veggies, natural fats

 

3- Intermittent Fasting: Can fast in a few different ways:

A Lifestyle//A way of Living//A Pattern in Life//A Lifestyle

16:8 Fast for 16 hours eat for 8

Fast for 16 hours and eat during an 8 hour window.

Also 5:2 Method:

Strategically Skipping meals

No specifications on foods to eat/ avoid.

-Point is to strive to reduce the amount of time your body is digesting foods.

 

  • In between try herbal teas,
  • When easing back in: Balanced diet consisting of vegetables, whole grains and protein will always get you results.

-The timing of the meals is what’s most important. It’s WHEN you’re eating, not HOW MUCH.

-Training the body to burn stored fat.

Benefits – possible weight loss, possible lowered blood pressure –Inflammation may reduce
