I quit coffee

Wellness > Smart Girls

Every am.

I've been off coffee for almost 3 years now, back to that heritage

By: Candice Kumai

Matcha, its been my lifeline in my career. I wrote 5 books off the stuff… and on the stuff…

I’ve been the youngest female advisor who sits in the board at the largest matcha + green tea purveyor in the world, straight from Japan for the past 5++ years.

I report direct to all of the Japanese and American + global teams. We are a large part of the reason why and how matcha has become wildly popular😍🍵. We made it readily available + gave you access to recipes + it’s magical benefits.⚡⚡⚡

I’ve traveled all over the nation: LA, Honolulu, Miami, NY, San Diego, San Fran, just to speak on matcha alone, for the past 6 years.
Knowledge is powerful: History notes, tea “purifies the body” + “calms the mind.” Studies show my Japanese ancestors are getting benefits like cardiovascular health+ green tea may reduce the risk of cancer, attributed to the tea’s antioxidant powers.
Matcha + green tea has restorative properties + helps w/ cognitive brain health, bone health + oral hygiene, so smile, babes. Yassss matcha queen!⚡⚡

Check out one of my fave matcha recipes below and learn how to make your own amaze matcha latte. Yassss #matchaqueen!⚡⚡

Candice’s Creamy Coconut Almond Milk Latte

Homemade Matcha Coconut Latte!? Yeah girl, you know this Japanese-American girl has you covered! No excess chemicals, sweeteners or bs.. just straight homemade love xx Traditionally, you would make matcha with a chasen (a bamboo whisk) + 175-185 degree water. In this recipe, we are going to try it in a Vitamix, easy morning deliciousness.

Makes 2 lattes

2 teaspoons high quality matcha (matcha love by ito en)

2 cups just under boiling water (175-185 degrees F)

1-2 tablespoons coconut manna//coconut butter (you can find this at a health food store, in a jar;))

1/4 cup almond milk (unsweetened is best)

sweetener (if desired to taste, optional) I prefer mine unsweetened

  1. Place your matcha powder in a bone-dry Vitamix. Add your hot water, and coconut manna/butter and carefully blend on low, and after a few seconds, carefully bring to medium-high power. Blend for about 10-15 additional seconds. Add sweetener if desired.
  2. Pour into desired serving cups and pour your fave almond milk into the side of the bowl to top off. Drink! xxx ck
