7 Clean Green Tips to Try for 7 Days

Ladies, you can be the healthiest, most beautiful you imaginable, right now! In my quest to finally find this place for myself, I’ve created a few tips to share my lifestyle with you. It takes just 7 days,  so try this for the next week and see if it gets you to that place of happy! You are beautiful. 🙂 xx ck

1 DRINK MORE WATER. For the next 7 days, you will be detoxifying, cleansing, and giving your organs a bit of a rest. No highly acidic coffee, no soda or diet soda—only beverages that will heal and nourish your body. Water, sparkling water, tea, and kombucha tea are all allowed. I prefer Good Earth’s Sweet & Spicy, Tazo’s Green Ginger, or Yogi’s DeTox tea. Drink at least 10 cups of water per day to flush out toxins and negative energy. Think: clean, pure, refreshing. Invest in a reusable water bottle, and carry it with you everywhere.

2 MEDITATE EACH MORNING. Start out each morning with a mantra that wipes your slate clean. Focus on a specific purpose (an ikigai in Japanese) that will help you get through your day. For example, say to yourself, “Today is going to be an amazing day. I will set my intentions on being positive at work and make sure I take a walk outside at lunch to energize myself.” Create a personal morning mantra that works for you. Your morning mantra will give you renewed confidence and help you feel energized and ready for the day’s challenges. In a quiet room, sit cross-legged, place your hands on your knees, sit up tall, breathe in, and exhale deeply as you repeat your ikigai. Ommmmm.

3 EAT CLEAN AND REAL WITH FWBS. That’s Foods with Benefits! Aren’t you sick of wasting your paychecks on meal plans, protein bars, chalky shakes, and calorie-counting programs? No need, no more! Take a chance on a new veggie, fresh greens or spices you’ve never tried before—you’ll be surprised at how delish it tastes! Eliminate all processed foods over the next 7 days, and you’ll soon see a big difference in the way you look and feel!

4 PRACTICE THE 75% RULE, AND STAY POSITIVE. They say that practice makes perfect. But we all live in the real world, and we all make mistakes. That’s okay. Over the next 7 days you’ll do everything possible to stick to this plan and be your best self. But what if you falter? Just remember the 75% Rule: Every meal should consist of 75% fresh produce. Eat until you are 75% full. Keep 75% of your day active and engaged. If you grab a cupcake for a snack or chow down on a few slices of pizza one night, take a deep breath, focus on staying positive, and say, “Do-over. Tomorrow I will eat clean and real.” As you start to practice these clean new habits, you’ll start living a healthier new life without even thinking about it! But for now, do whatever you can to stick to the rules 75% of the time.

5 BANISH YOUR BAD HABITS. We all have vices and naughty habits that seem to get us through the bad or stressful times. But for the next 7 days, I challenge you to say no to the following things: no to smoking, no to excess drinking (one glass of vino or champagne is allowed on Friday and Saturday nights), no to late nights out with 5 or fewer hours of sleep. No more deprivation. If you are hungry, eat, but stop when you are 75% full. No over consuming, no binge eating, no starving, and no drugs of any kind. Healthy is made in the kitchen, not at the bar or the drugstore! As we all know, a miserable, hungover Sunday is not fun at all.

6 MOVE TOWARD A SEXIER BOD. Exercise is proven to be one of the most effective weight loss aids and stress reducers out there. It’s really not hard to do, I promise, and it will make you feel absolutely amazing! All I ask is that you participate in some sort of physical activity for at least 45 minutes each day. It can be a brisk walk, window- shopping with the girls, or even cleaning out your closet. I don’t care what you do, as long as you move for 45 minutes, every single day. If you are new to exercise or just want to switch things up, I highly recommend that you practice yoga at least three times this week. It’s my favorite way to find focus, relieve stress, and burn calories. Win-win-win! Jackpot!

7 GET MORE SLEEP. Dedicate at least 8 hours to sleep every single night for the next 7 days. Postpone any late-night plans, and create a peaceful sanctuary in your bedroom so you can get your ZZZs. Ditch that awful, negative reality show at night, and enjoy fun drama in your dreams instead! Beauty sleep burns more calories, relieves stress, and keeps you happy and energized in the morning. Don’t sacrifice sleep—it’s the best thing you can do to achieve a more confident, healthier you—and best of all, it’s free.
